Malindi MP seat hopeful Philip Charo now wants his ODM rival Aisha Jumwa barred from contesting in the August elections.

Charo said Jumwa’s threats cannot be taken lightly, adding that action must be taken against her once police investigations are complete. The Jubilee aspirant said Jumwa had developed cold feet and was using threats to remain relevant.“Jumwa has sensed defeat and wants to intimidate supporters who are declaring support for my bid,” said Charo, as quoted by the Nation.Charo vowed to floor the Kilifi Women Rep on August 8, adding that he has the numbers to send her home.He asked his supporters to remain firm and report any form of intimidation and harassment by his rivals to the police.Jumwa on Tuesday appeared before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Malindi for questioning over claims she had threatened to kill her former supporter.Malindi DCIO Anthony Sunguti said Jumwa was summoned to the station after the complainant, Ezra Bidii, filed a report claiming she threatened to kill him after they fell out.Jumwa, has, however, denied the allegations and challenged Bidii to provide proof to back up his claims."People have individual rights to support whoever they want in politics and by leaving my camp it doesn't mean that I must kill them to make it in politics," the MP said.
