[Photo/Daily Nation]Some Jubilee politicians from Mt Kenya have condemned Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu for allegedly promoting tribalism in the county.Gatundu MP Moses Kuria and nominated senator Isaac Mwaura have termed the governor’s remarks unfortunate. It is alleged that Waititu asked Kiambu residents to reject non-locals seeking leadership positions in the county.Kuria and Mwaura warned Waititu against profiling certain communities in Kiambu."I want to condemn Waititu’s statement that Kiambu residents should not vote for people he termed 'outsiders', I want to remind him that he came to Kiambu from Nairobi and our people elected him,” said Mwaura.Mwaura who made the remarks during an interview with Inooro FM on Wednesday said Kiambu is a cosmopolitan county.“We won't allow discrimination against some communities," he added.Waititu on Tuesday reportedly blamed Kahawa Wendani residents for electing Cyrus Omondi who hails from another ethnic community as the area MCA.He said the inflow of 'outsiders' into the county was the main reason why Omondi emerged victorious during the Jubilee Party nominations."That is exactly what happened, and that is how he got the seat, we will never allow it (electing non-Kikuyus) to happen again," Waititu said during a forum on county bursaries at the Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology.Kuria said every Kenyan has a right to seek a political seat in any part of the country."The people of Kahawa Wendani found it fit to elect Omondi as their ward representative, they should not be blamed for exercising their constitutional right," Kuria said.
