The upcoming primaries will make or break the Jubilee Party, two gubernatorial aspirants have said.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso and Julius Kones, all seeking Jubilee ticket to take on Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto come August 8 general election, said the nominations will determine the party’s future.

“This exercise will be a make or break for the party as it will determine the future of the party in Bomet. The leadership of the party must not hold back any resources towards ensuring that that the primaries will be free and fair,” said Dr Kones, a former Knonoin MP.

Laboso asked the party, led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, to do all it can to ensure credible nominations.

The party has witnessed defections over fears of unfair primaries.

Governor Isaac Ruto quit Jubilee and formed the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party.
