The recent true between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga continues to send ripples across the political world, with parties now positioning themselves for 2022.
On Wednesday, the Jubilee Party indicated that they will be willing to work with ODM in 2022, but only on one condition.
According to National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale, the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led outfit was willing to forge a pact with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), but only if their 2022 plans will not be affected in any way.
“Our succession agenda is very clear, our striker is William Ruto and we will ensure he does not get injured until he scores the goal (he gets to State House),” said Duale.
According to Duale, the succession plan in the ruling coalition is very clear, and they will not allow anyone to spoil or break it.
The agreement between the two leaders had sparked an unending conversation on the future of Ruto in the succession politics, with many seeing Odinga as a threat to their plans.
The writing is clearly on the wall that the party is not willing to play second fiddle, and will stop at nothing in their quest to occupy statehouse after President Kenyatta.
