Led by their leaders from various sub counties, the residents cited neglect by the ODM party which is part of NASA coalition and vowed to support the Jubilee coalition.

Speaking on Monday at the Nakuru Jubilee office during the announcement, Nakuru Jubilee Chairperson David Manyara welcomed the move calling on all communities in Nakuru County to embrace peace.

“If we unite and work together then shall we reduce the tension we have and we shall have peace as we work together as Nakuru and as a nation.

On his part, Chair Luhya Community in Nakuru County John Amukoye said a time had come for them to support the Jubilee administration.

While citing negligence by some political parties as far as inclusivity is concerned, he called on western residents residing in Nakuru to ensure they support Jubilee.

“We are not just a community to be used by some parties which do not respect our role and a time has come for us to support the government that recognizes us” said Amukoye.

Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama who was elected on an ODM ticket but later ditched the party for Jubilee said Nakuru County was a cosmopolitan and therefore every community should be respected.

The legislator warned a section of leaders who want to divide Nakuru on the basis of the tribal line that they should desist from such.

“As people from Western region living in Nakuru, we want to state that we are in Jubilee and that we shall support the government without any tribal affiliations,” he said.

Nakuru’s Jubilee Woman Rep candidate Liza Chelule called on the residents to ensure peace before, during and after elections.

While taking the opportunity to appeal for residents to vote her in come  August 8th, the Nominated Senator said once elected she will ensure peaceful co-existence of the people of Nakuru.

“You nominated me and I know you will vote me for the Woman rep seat so that we can continue to unite this Nakuru as one community,” she said.

On his part, Bahati MP Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri who is also the chair Nakuru County Legislators Association while drumming up support for President Uhuru Kenyatta called on Nakuru leaders to unite for a purpose.

The legislator also appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure communities living in Nakuru County are absorbed in government.

“We are voting in Jubilee as a block and that one we are assuring our president and his deputy.I want to appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider Nakuru in government since we are voting him as a block,” he said.

This comes merely a day after Nasa held a rally in Nakuru county wooing voters to come out in large numbers and vote in opposition.
