Members of Parliament affiliated to the ruling Jubilee Party have responded to calls made by opposition leader Raila Odinga for the formation of an interim government.
Speaking in parliament, the MPs poured cold water on the prospect of an interim government.
''There will be no interim government. We want to tell our president very clearly and simply to stay away from anything close to nusu mkate.'' They said.
Odinga suggested an interim government as a solution to the political crisis gripping the country in an exclusive interview with Reuters.
The ball is now in the Supreme Court's court to determine the direction in which the country moves.
It may uphold Kenyattta's re-election or annul it.
