President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party might lose support from Mandera County ahead of the August 8 general election, if threats from a section of Mandera leaders to withdraw their support for the part comes true.
The leaders from Economic Freedom Party (EFP) have claimed that Jubilee is conspiring with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in order to take numbers from their side.
EFP through its gubernatorial candidate Hassan Noor, has warned of possible withdrawal if the matter is not fixed.
According to the leaders, electorates are being transferred to various polling stations across the country purposely so as to weaken EFP numbers ahead of the August polls.
“EFP candidates for governor, senator, woman representative and all six for the National Assembly have been transferred from where they registered to other polling stations, making it difficult for them to participate in the elections,” Said Noor during a press conference, Saturday.
According to Noor, more than 50,000 voters have been lost through the transfers.
Mandera senator Billow Kerow has also cautioned of possible withdrawal if Jubilee fails to honour the agreement they had with them.
“We are keenly watching, we have options and we will not allow our votes to be stolen,” Kerrow said.
