Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has hit out at Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititi over alleged poor performance.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Jambo on Saturday, the lawmaker accused the county chief of losing control of the county leadership, noting that he is yet to realise the majority of his pre-election campaign promises.
He also questioned the county boss' leadership qualities, bashing him over failure to promote unity in the county, citing his ongoing rivalry with his deputy James Nyoro.
"We are facing a situation where the Governor has been unable to even maintain peace with his deputy, with the infighting resulting to poor performance and a disadvantage to residents," he said.
"It's as a result of the infighting and poor leadership that the county is facing a drop in revenue, proof that something is not being done the right way," he added.
Mwaura called on Waititu to take control, further urging the two to put aside their apparent differences and concentrate on service delivery.
The vocal Senator urged the governor and his deputy to embrace the ongoing chain of reconciliations kicked off by President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga.
"The handshake should extend to Kiambu County so that the leaders can reunite and serve the people," said Mwaura.
