Speaking in a viral video that was widely shared on the social media on Thursday, the Senator sensationally claimed that Governor Stephen Sang had employed many non-locals at the expense of the locals.

The youthful Jubilee Senator says that county jobs should only be reserved for the Nandi speaking staff.

He further claimed that the governor was dishing out jobs to the non-locals and 'slay queens' while locking out potential locals with the requisite qualifications.

"Nandi county should employ Nandis exclusively, not even Kipsigis, Tugens, Luhyas or even Luos," said Cherargei in the video.

"When we are allocating county funds in Nairobi (Senate), it is meant for the residents of that county. Therefore our Nandi people should be the beneficiaries of Nandi County appointments," added the Senator who is serving his first term in office.
