Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata has reiterated that the National Super Alliance (NASA) never campaigned enough in course to the August polls, hence, the coalition has no right to claim they won the polls.
According to Kang'ata, elections are won through campaigns and in his view, Jubilee won the elections by undertaking over 500 campaigns in the country.
"Elections are won through campaigns. It is therefore ridiculous for NASA to claim they won the August polls against Jubilee. NASA never conducted effective campaigns and thus cannot claim to be winners," said Kang'ata.
Kang'ata further claimed that this year's elections are more credible as compared to the 2013 general elections.
The senator believes this can be substantiated with the less number of elections of petitions presented before the Judiciary as compared to 2013 where at least 500 petitions were filed.
"In fact, the August polls are more credible as compared to 2013 elections. This can be attested to through the less petitions filed, approximately 100, as compared to the 500 of 2013," added Kang'ata.
However, Kang'ata urged IEBC to engage both Jubilee and NASA in selection of the personnel to oversee the October polls. Through this, the senator believes the loser will accept the outcome of the elections without dragging the country back to another presidential election.
He made the remarks on Thursday on Citizen Xtra show on Citizen TV.
