Trans Nzoia Senator Michael Mbito has asked locals in the county to pray for him even as he faces a court battle challenging his win in the August 8 poll.Former Senator Henry Ole Ndiema filed the petition claiming Mbito was not validly elected as the election process was marred by massive irregularities and illegalities.Speaking in Kitale town on Tuesday during the swearing in of the Trans Nzoia county Executive Committee members (CeCs), Mbito however said will continue serving the people despite ongoing court case."Some people think that we are sleeping but we are not and I want to assure you that even as I continue with the court case I will strive to effectively deliver my mandate of seeing a better Trans Nzoia," said the Jubilee Senator."All I ask from you now is that you pray for me over this case though I am told some people from the other camp always say even if there's a fresh election they will still lose, but even so keep praying for me and my legal team," he added. The case which is being heard at the Eldoret High Court is scheduled for mention on January 14 where a report on scrutiny of election materials and vote recount in 11 polling stations in the county is expected to be presented.
