Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura said on Saturday that all indications show Sonko won't able to transform Nairobi into a city that Kenyans desire.

The city, he said is littered with garbage despite his promise that he would clean it up within three months after assuming office.

"I can say it without fear of doubt that Sonko has failed in the management of the city," he said.

"If he cannot perform then let him resign," he added.

Mwaura made the remarks as he spoke on Radio Jambo during a morning talk show hosted by Bramwel Mwololo.

Sonko is presently under pressure to perform after promising Kenyans that he would transform Nairobi into a clean crime free town.

During his inauguration in January, he accused former Governor Dr Evans Kidero of running down East and Central Africa's largest city.

He claimed Kidero abated corruption that denied Nairobi residents key services including water.

"Jubilee is ready to pick someone else to replace him (Sonko). Jubilee can't allow Nairobi to be mismanaged. We want to leave a good legacy when President Uhuru Kenyatta officially leaves power in 2022," added Mwaura.
