A nominated Senator has offered to pay the hospital bills for opposition chief Raila Odinga's top supporters who are hospitalized.
Millicent Omanga on Sunday visited hospitalized sons of 'Mama Orange', Raila's die-hard fan at Mbagathi hospital and pledged to support the family.
'Mama Orange' was at the forefront campaigning for Raila in Nairobi and was a common figure on television during the anti-repeat election campaigns in the city.
"Our world is full of setbacks and we all find ourselves in such state at some point. I have learned of the tribulations that Mama Orange and her family have been going through," Senator Omanga said on Monday at Mbagathi hospital.
"Her sons have been sick and admitted at Mbagathi Hospital and she has been facing some challenges in paying for the medication.
"I visited her to encourage her to stay strong, to let her know that her family is in our thoughts and prayers and to financially support her."
She said the troubles the lady is going through affect many Kenyans calling on Kenyans to enroll for health insurance schemes.
Omanga was among top city politicians who de-campaigned Raila as she faced ODM's Esther Passaris for the city's Women Representative seat. She lost to Passaris.
