This follows statement from Uasin Gishu County aspirants, led by governor Jackson Mandago, that they had boycotted the exercise, and postponed it, due to lack of enough ballot papers.

Secretary general Raphael Tuju said aspirants and returning officers had no powers to call off any nomination exercise, without consultations from the party headquarters and party National Elections Board .

"No aspirant has the power to call off our voting processes. Yes some stations received more materials than others but this is because they have more voters,'' he said, Friday afternoon.According to Tuju, ballot papers dispatched to various polling stations, ahead of the Friday exercise, were enough and incase need arose, more would be delivered, before the activities end."If materials run out then we kick off our backup mechanism, including delivery of material by air. We have backup and 8 choppers on standby to deliver materials,'' he disclosed.Chaos have reported in various areas such as Nandi, Nanyuki in Laikipia, Uasin Gishu, among others.

He addressed the press alongside the party's NEB members, at the party's headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi.
