Jubilee regional cordinator Victor Munyaka’s claims that the party has intentions to field a candidate to battle it out with Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua was unexpected.
It does not make sense to field a candidate who will lose at the end of the day after weakening the party.
Mutua has been moving from one part of the nation to another asking Kenyans to back the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
The outspoken Governor has affirmed that he will work with UhuRuto because they share the same agenda, development.
Presenting a candidate to fight him is the last thing Jubilee should have thought about. President Kenyatta is a troubled man.
The opposition is hatching a plot to send him before midday on August 8 through the National Super Alliance (NASA).
This is the time Uhuru cannot afford to lose Mutua. As much as Mutua is not a member of Jubilee Party, he will play a pivotal role when it comes to Uhuru's re-election.
The other Wiper defectors have little to contribute towards Jubilee Party in the forthcoming election. We cannot ignore the fact that Kenya is a democratic nation and anyone can vie for any seat but this decision will cause the party more harm than good.
Jubilee should present candidates for all other seats but not governorship.
