Cord leader Raila Odinga has challenged Central Kenya residents to support his presidential bid in the forthcoming August elections.
Speaking in Meru County on Thursday during a voter registration sensitisation exercise, the former Prime Minister pledged to restore the country's economy, accusing the Jubilee administration of spreading negative publicity about him in the region.
"Jubilee is just using the divide and rule method to cause tension in the country. I cannot be an enemy of Meru. That is negative propaganda," Raila said as quoted by the Star.
"I wonder what I have done to be branded as the enemy of the people from this region. I am closer to you. Don't be cheated," he added.
Raila further challenged the residents to register as voters, noting that it was the only way they could propel him to the presidency.
He further hit out at Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi who decamped to the Jubilee Party from ODM.
"When he was elected, the people knew he was in ODM. Now he has moved to Uhuru because of personal interests," he said.
