Former Budalang'i MP Raphael Wanjala has defected from Jubilee party to opposition ODM.
Wanjala who served Budalangi constituency between 1997 to 2007 is planning to unseat the incumbent MP Ababu Namwamba who ditched ODM for Labour Party.
Wanjala lost to Namwamba who garnered 12,000 votes against his own 6,000 in the 2007 general elections.
Speaking on Thursday at Port Victoria County hall where he met over 1,000 ODM delegates, Wanjala said he will meet party leader Raila Odinga next week to deliberate on the way forward.
He reiterated that he will go by the peoples' decision as they are the voters.
"The people have decided, even the Bible says that the voice of the majority is God's voice, who am I to say no?" Wanjala said.
Wanjala's entry into ODM is seen as a renewed rivalry between the former MP and Namwamba.
