President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party has suffered yet another loss, after two of its Rift Valley alies decamped.
West Pokot County MP Regina Nyeris and her Sigor counterpart Philip Rotino, left the party to rival, Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party.
They accused Jubilee, whose deputy is deputy president William Ruto, of failing to walk the talk, by ensuring transparency, and equity in the party.
"We have officially joined CCM. We will not be participating in Jubilee nominations today because the party has preferred candidates,'' said Rotino.
Speaking to the press at a Nairobi Hotel, Monday, the two defectors vowed to support CCM party leader Bomet governor Isaac Ruto, who joined the Opposition's Nasa coalition, as the fifth principal.
The lawmakers were received by Ruto, who assured them of the party's support. They now get direct nominations to defend their seats.
