Jubilee party have threatened to change poll laws by initiating an amendment to the section of the electoral laws so that the technical issues does not act as the main reason to annul a presidential election in Kenya as it was the main reason why the victory of Uhuru Kenyatta was overturned by the supreme court.

The Senate majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen an election should be based on numbers not on how the results are transmitted from the polling station to the national polling center since this is against the will of the people.

“We are ready to make amendments to any sections in the constitution that prevent Kenyans from electing their leaders,”  said Murkomen

Murkomen added that the amendments are to be made before the repeat of the October 2017 election and there will be nothing that will prevent Kenyans from electing their leaders since it is their rights and it is against the constitution to deny Kenyans from electing their leaders.

This comes after the supreme court ordered for a fresh election as the previous election was faced with a lot of anomalies and IEBC was instructed to correct the mistakes before embarking on a new election.
