A section of leaders and residents from the Rift-Valley are threatening to decamp from Jubilee over Kiambu Governor William Kabogo's remarks.
Kabogo had said that DP William Ruto should not expect automatic support from central in his 2022 presidential bid, remarks that led to threats from the DP's North Rift backyard leaders and residents to rock the ruling Jubilee coalition.
West Pokot County Deputy Governor Titus Lotee said if Kabogo's remarks were not lightly, it is a clear indication that the vote-rich Rift-valley will have no option but to withdraw its support for president Kenyatta in 2017.
"If Kabogo's remarks were anything to go by, it is a clear indication that the vote-rich Rift-Valley will has no option but to withdraw its support for president Kenyatta in 2017," said Lotee.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi also has denounced the remarks as 'reckless' and should not be taken lightly by the people of Rift-Valley.
"We want to make it clear that majority of MPs, elected leaders and community leaders are unhappy with Kabogo's remarks. We richly voted president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013. We will vote him in 2017, but we should not be taken for granted by the likes of Kabogo," said Sudi.
