The leader of majority in the national assembly Aden Duale has said Jubilee will tomorrow, Tuesday, nominate two representatives to the selection panel on the recruitment of new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners.
Duale said they will hold a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto the same day to deliberate on the matter.
Duale, who was speaking in Mombasa when he met the Somali community and the Jubilee whole set, said they are fast tracking the process to ensure the commissioners leave office in time.
“On Tuesday, we are going to nominate our two representatives to the selection panel on IEBC and the constitution does not anticipate a virtue,” Duale said.
“So Isack Hassan and his team will only leave when the new commissioners take office or take the oath of office,” he added.
The new elections laws amendments act takes effect from October 4, 2016. The president signed the act on September 14, 2016.
