Speaking to the press on Tuesday, the MPs led by Starehe MP Maina Kamanda and his Dagoretti South counterpart Dennis Waweru, said they have already written to the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to investigate the chaos and file charges against the three principals.

"We have discussed with business owners whose premises were looted and destroyed during the protests. Our lawyers are working with them to file charges," said Kamanda.

Waweru on his part said that the three opposition chiefs should be held accountable for the losses incured during the protests.

"It will not be business as usual. The three Cord principals must be held accountable for their actions and that of their protesters," said Waweru.

This comes as 15 youths arrested on Monday during the anti-IEBC protests at Nairobi CBD were charged in court on Tuesday morning.

They were charged with unlawful assembly, creating disturbance and going to the public armed with stones. They denied the charges and were freed on Sh50,000 bond or a cash bail of Sh3,000 each by Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo.

The case will be heard on July 21.
