The Speaker of the Senate Kenneth Lusaka has congratulated Kennedy Musyoka after his nomination to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

Speaking during a goat auction at Nguni in Mwingi Central, Kitui County, Lusaka said it was a privilege for a person of Kennedy's age to become a Member of Parliament.

"I want to congratulate the son of my friend Kalonzo Musyoka, Kennedy, for clinching the covet seat. I urge him to represent Kenya and the youth with great vigour and passion," the Speaker said over the weekend.

Kennedy, who is former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka's son, is set to be sworn in today (Monday) during the first session of the forth Assembly.

He was nominated alongside Abdikadir Aden, Fatuma Ibrahim, Oburu Oginga, Wanjiku Muhia, Aden Noor, Mpuri Aburi, Simon Mbugua and Florence Jematiah.

As the same time, Lusaka asked politicians across political divide to put their differences aside and join hands in moving the country forward.

"The elections are over and we have a president who had been sworn in. It is time to put politics behind us and unite in building the country," he said, urging Ukambani to support Jubilee administration led by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
