Unlike what appears to the public, the recent agreement of peace between the Jubilee government and former NASA flagbearer Raila Odinga was a farce and cannot hold water.

When two warring factions come to make peace, the benefits of this peace must be enjoyed by both sides.

However, Jubilee seems to be the only side enjoying this period of calm and tranquility.

This was manifested in the manner in which the government treated self-declared militia leader Miguna Miguna upon his arrival from Canada where he had earlier been deported.

The government claimed that Miguna did not have appropriate travel documents and would therefore not be admitted back to the country.

Among the documents the former Nairobi governor aspirant lacked was the Kenyan visa.

However, Miguna insisted that having been born in Kenya meant that he was a Kenyan by birth and did not need to have a visa to walk in the country.

In as much as both sides might have their reasons, a government that just came from a political treaty with Raila ought to have treated the NASA lawyer with more respect.

If Jubilee was committed to honouring the peace agreement, they ought to have treated Miguna's case as a civil one and not a criminal one, since Miguna was more representative of the opposition that of himself in that case.

Not even the interception of Raila Odinga and other NASA lawyers like Siaya senator James Orengo could help.Question is, if the government cannot listen to their 'new friends' like Raila, what modesty does that peace agreement come along with?

The question can better be understood by merely considering that the Jubilee government has in it William Ruto, a man of political wit and who ensures he triumphs over political enemies.
