A section of elders from Kisii county has come out strongly to condemned jubilee leadership for failing to nominate former CIC chairman Charles Nyachae to East African legislative assembly (EALA).
According to the elders, Nyachae stood for Jubilee in Kisii and Nyamira counties respectively and ensured that they won the hotly contested presidential elections above all the repeat presidential elections.
Led by Gusii culture head, Elijah Nyangaresi, during a press conference in a Kisii hotel, the elders said President Uhuru Kenyatta should revoke the move and appoint the son of the former powerful minister in other influential government post or expect rejection from the area.
"The Jubilee government top leadership failed us as a community for failing to award one of our own Charles Nyachae by nominating him to EALA and its high time president Uhuru Kenyatta makes a quick move to appoint him to another post or else we're ready to walk out of his party," said Nyangaresi.
The elder's sentiments are not the first one as leaders from the area have expressed their disappointments on the same.
Nyachae failed to be among the top five that were nominated to EALA after landing at number six.
On the Jubilee side, former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua made a political comeback and got the majority votes among the party’s 14 nominees.
Also elected were Florence Sergon ( 252 ), former Mandera North MP Aden Noor Mohammed ( 192 ), former Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi ( 208 ) and former Nyandarua Woman Rep Wanjiku Muhia ( 180 ).
