The war between the government and Opposition over the mass voter registration took a different twist after ODM Director of Elections, Junet Mohamed dragged former District Commissioners into the matter.

Junet claimed 100 former civil servants were being used to fast track the issuance of ID cards to residents from regions backing the re-election of president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

According to the Suna East MP, the officers were based at Nyayo House.

''They are responsible for the high number of double voter registration having been assisted to infiltrate the IEBC data,'' he said.

The revelations that former administration officials were out to help the ruling government retain power during the upcoming election, made the Opposition reluctant in withdrawing a case filed against the electoral agency, over the tender to audit the voters' register awarded to KPMG, according to Junet.
