Muthama claimed the billions President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy are using to launch their new party is from public coffers.

The senator said that Jubilee could be using proceeds of corruption to fund their activities.

“These people should explain to Kenyans the source of the billions they are using to launch their new party,” he said on phone on Friday.

The senator noted that it is evident that money looted from taxpayers is funding Uhuru and Ruto’s activities.

He wondered why the Jubilee government is borrowing money from foreigners when Uhuru and Ruto can afford billions for the launch of a party.

“Kenyans are not fools and one day the source of the money they (Jubilee government) are splashing on party launch will be revealed,” he added.

Several opposition leaders among them Raila Odinga have questioned Jubilee’s source of money set aside for the launch of the new Jubilee Party on Saturday.

Raila during a tour of the Western region claimed that Jubilee government was allegedly using the proceeds of Eurobond to launch their new party.

The Cord leader said the money that has been disappearing from public coffers is now being used for private activities.

However, Jubilee government has defended itself against the claims.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Thursday denied claims that Jubilee was using proceeds of corruption to fund its activities.

Meru senator Kiraitu Murungi also denied the claims saying the money being used belongs to political parties.

Jubilee Party will be launched officially by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday.
