The leader of majority in parliament is adamant that Jubilee Party showed its goodness to the NASA brigade in the wake of the adjournment of the national assembly.

Responding to questions by interviewer Sofia Wanuna of KTN News on November 8 Wednesday night, Duale remarked that the ruling party has been magnanimous to the opposition by considering their prayers and allowing them time to get their act together in presenting their preferred list of names of members of parliament to be placed in parliamentary committees.

“We could have created the committees, we have the numbers but we were magnanimous to NASA. In fact, we created 2 committees today. NASA said that most of their principals were out of the country and therefore asked for more time until the 29th of this month for them to present their list. They want that duration for their principals to discuss and agree on what to present,” said Duale.

He further said that the reason for parliament going to recess a day after it was reconvened is to allow the members of parliament time to go to their constituencies and build consensus on the projects to be funded by the CDF.

“We passed names of Constituency Board members for 288 constituencies today and will be gazetted tomorrow, therefore by next week 50% of disbursement will be due.  The house went on recess to allow MPs time to discuss with their constituents and agree on projects to be undertaken by the fund,” said Duale.
