The ruling coalition, Jubilee Party, now wants the Cohesion and Intergration Commission to take action against opposition alliance leader Raila Odinga.
According to Jubilee, the NASA flag bearer allegedly used inflammatory remarks.
Through its secretary General Raphael Tuju, the party has written to the commission, urging it to take stern action against Raila.
Tuju spoke in Nairobi, where he also played a video of Raila uttering the alleged inciting remarks during a function in Kajiad County.
He said it was time for the commission to stamp its authority and bring to book all hate mongers.
The video, which has been doing rounds on social media, shows Odinga addressing the public, where he is heard cautioning them against selling their land to unnamed people.
“With only 52 days to the national elections, we consider that Raila's use of irresponsible and inflammatory language will ignite tensions within local communities and can only be regarded as hate-speech," said Tuju.
He was accompanied by nominated MP Johnson Sakaja.
