Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has blamed the Jubilee government for the current storm being experienced in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Kalonzo during an interview on NTV on Sunday accused Jubilee leaders of being behind the storm in the Orange party.
The Cord co-principal claimed that Jubilee government was using money to cause rifts in opposition.
“We are aware of the plot by Jubilee government to create rifts and animosity among key leaders in opposition,” he claimed.
The former Vice President said that Jubilee was afraid of opposition.
“Jubilee government is afraid of the opposition, they know that we are ready to make the government in 2017 and they are looking for ways to divide us,” he said.
The cord co-principal said that Jubilee’s plot is to weaken the opposition ahead of the 2017 polls.
Kalonzo, however, said that opposition leaders will remain firm and united ahead of 2017. He said that rebels in opposition will not be tolerated.
“As opposition leaders, we will not allow rebels who have been bought by Jubilee to interfere with our agenda for 2017,” he said.
Kalonzo assured supporters that Cord will remain united and clinch the elections in 2017.
There are rifts in ODM with several top leaders resigning over frustration claims.
ODM secretary general Ababu Namwamba resigned last eek citing frustrations.
The ODM Vice chairman Paul Otuoma also resigned last week.
On Sunday (yesterday) ODM Bungoma chairman Mr John Waluke resigned.
Several Orange party members including nominated MP Isaac Mwaura who is a staunch supporter of Raila Odinga decamped to Jubilee last week.
Mr Mwaura will be vying for Ruiru parliamentary seat in the 2017 elections.
The storm in ODM is threatening to tear the party with analysts claiming that failure to address the issues in ODM could see fall out of Cord leaders.
The Orange party is on Tuesday expected to hold a crisis meeting over the storm and recent resignations by a section of leaders.
