Jubilee Party Secretary General has said that the outfit must win the forthcoming general elections by more than 70 per cent.

Jubilee is facing stiff competition from a re-energized and united Opposition as the August polls shape up.

Speaking on Friday at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), the former Rarieda MP observed that President Uhuru Kenyatta has an edge over Opposition alliance NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

He further lashed out at the opposition coalition, accusing NASA of intimidating the courts over poll laws.

The opposition threatened to boycott the general elections if the Court of Appeal overturns a ruling by the High Court that declared that presidential election results announced at the constituency level are official.

“If even now the opposition wants to choose the polling officers they want in some areas, we must win by a big margin so that they can give us a break,” Tuju said.

His remarks were reiterated by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was endorsed for re-election by the Labour Party of Kenya.
