Speaking at Tononoka grounds in Mombasa on Sunday, Duale said Cord was only good in carrying out demonstrations, adding that they did not have the capacity to defeat Jubilee in 2017.

"We are confident that President Uhuru Kenyatta will win the 2017 elections with an even bigger margin than 2013," he said.

"You can clearly see Cord in not a serious coalition and they are good at demonstrating and sitting on the roads," he added.

Duale asked Mombasa residents to rally behind President Uhuru and his deputy as they seek to transform the country.

He had accompanied Deputy President William Ruto on his tour of the Coastal region to drum support for Jubilee Party and President Uhuru's reelection.

The DP on his part reiterated the government's commitment to serving the people of Mombasa, and asked them to support development minded leaders.
