President Uhuru Kenyatta has affirmed Jubilee Party's commitment to conduct peaceful campaigns before, during and after the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on Monday shortly after presenting his nomination papers to IEBC at the KICC, the Head of State further said he was grateful that he had been cleared to seek re-election, exuding confidence of recapturing the country's top seat.
"I am truly grateful that you have cleared us. I assure you that Jubilee stands for peace, unity and progress," he said.
"We have no intention to abuse our opponents. Our desires is to sell the policies we have. Peace now, peace during campaigns and peace after the campaign," he added.
He was accompanied by his running mate and Deputy President William Ruto.
The duo are facing stiff competition from a more united and charged Opposition in the presidential race.
President Kenyatta will face off with Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga who was given the nod to vie by IEBC on Sunday.
Six other presidential candidates have been cleared by the electoral agency to vie.
