Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo has viciously opposed the proposed amendments by Jubilee to the election laws set to guide the 2017 general election.According to Millie, Jubilee is working to take the country backward on election matters, a move she said will derail development. The legislator made the remarks at Parliament buildings on Tuesday where, together with other Cord MPs, blocked Parliament from carrying out their functions properly. "Jubilee is trying to take this country back to Egypt. We are heading to Canaan and there is no way Jubilee will amend election laws to best suit them. Jubilee should stop taking this nation for a ride," reiterated Millie.Cord MPs said there is a plan to come up with underhand election laws meant to gift Jubilee a second term in office. However, Duale dismissed the claims and saying the amendments in the election laws were proposed by a report from the Samuel Chepkonga-led Justice and Legal Affairs Committee .
