Thika legislator Alice Nga’ng’a has dismissed claims that Jubilee government will fall apart following the withdrawal of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s case at the International Criminal Court (ICC) while that of his deputy William Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang continues.
The MP, who addressed locals at Thika town on Wednesday termed those predicting a fall out between Kenyatta and Ruto as prophets of doom.
Nga’ng’a said that Jubilee government is united and focused on addressing the problems facing the country and would not be confused by petty politicians.
“Jubilee is here to stay and enemies of progress are eager to see a fall out between Kenyatta and Ruto which will not happen,” she said.
The legislator said that the withdrawal of Kenyatta’s case at ICC last week came as a result of being innocent and not lack of evidence.
Nga’ng’a further said that the withdrawal came at the best time and will help the President to handle security matters seriously.
The Thika lawmaker asked the opposition to focus on their issues and give the government time to deliver on its pledges, further lashing out at the opposition for using insecurity situation to cause a divide among Kenyans.
She said that security remains a responsibility of every citizen and the opposition should support the government in its quest to guarantee safety of Kenyans.
