Former North Mugirango MP Wilfred Ombui predicted a landslide win for the Jubilee coalition in Nyamira County in the 2017 elections.
Ombui who is a TNA member and a hopeful for the North Mugirango seat said Cord has no room in the region.
Speaking to North Mugirango youths Friday, Ombui said Jubilee has gained ground in Nyamira and residents have now realised what it can offer hence are ready to vote for it.
“I know everyone in Nyamira has realised what it means to be in Jubilee and in government. We don’t have any National Youth Service project in Nyamira County because all MPs are from Cord. They declined the project saying it is meant for publicity. I blame them for putting their interests at heart instead of focusing on the youths who are suffering down here,” Ombui said.
“For instance Richard Momoina Onyonka was removed from the parliamentary committees because he considered the youths of Kitutu Chache than the allowances he was getting from the House committees. We need leaders who are loyal to the people and not loyal to the party,” he added.
“I wish to challenge our MPs to avoid being self-centered and being seen as good to the party while their electorate languish in poverty. Let them consider our people first," he said.
The former Mugirango MP also urged youths to avoid being misused by politicians for their own political gain.
" Let them elect leaders who can transform society."
