Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has expressed confidence that the Jubilee Party will carry the day in the county's gubernatorial race.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha on Wednesday, Maangi said all Jubilee aspirants for the seat will meet and consult on a strong candidate to unseat the incumbent Governor James Ongwae.
"Jubilee will carry the day in the gubernatorial elections. All Jubilee aspirants for the seat will consult on a strong candidate who will carry the day come August 8," Maangi said.
He further added that the aspirants for the seat will work together after the Jubilee Party nomination exercise.
According to the DG, leadership is not all about position and the losers of the Jubilee ticket for the Kisii gubernatorial seat can still serve from other areas.
"Jubilee party aspirants who will fail to clinch the party's ticket for August elections will work together with the winner to ensure Jubilee secures the seat. The losers can still serve from other areas since good leadership is not about position," added Maangi.
Maangi further affirmed that he would not ditch Jubilee party if he loses the party nominations for August elections.
