The Jubilee Party has won the Majimazuri/Mumberes ward by-election.
Susan Wacuka got 2, 106 votes, beating her Narc rival Eliud Kamau who managed just 313 votes.
Wacuka is the widow of Peter Kigathi, the immediate former Majimazuri/Mumberes ward representative in Baringo County.
Only 34.1 per cent of the 7,079 registered voters turned out to vote in the 19 polling stations, Returning officer Vincent Kimeli said.
Wacuka came second in the Jubilee primaries.
She was handed the Jubilee ticket after the party learnt that the winner, Cornelius Cheruiyot, was not a registered voter.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) could therefore not clear him to participate in the mini poll.
