Governor Hassan Joho has declared that Mombasa is an opposition zone and Jubilee will not win any seat in the county during the August 8 polls.

Speaking in Jomvu where he took his ODM campaigns on Saturday, the outspoken Governor said those peddling lies that Jubilee is gaining ground in Mombasa should be prepared for a rude shock.“Kuna wale wanaamini ati Jubilee imeingia Mombasa. Nataka niwakumbushe kuwa Jubilee hawana imani na sisi wala hawatakakuwa na imani na sisi. Jubilee sio wenzetu. Mimi nawaomba mnishike mkono. Yale mateso mnapata katika mikono ya Uhuru Kenyatta na William Ruto, tafadhali myalipishe tarehe nane, mwezi wa nane. Mhakikishe Mombasa hawatapata kiti hata kimoja (There are those who believe that Jubilee is gaining ground in Mombasa. I want to remind them that Jubilee is not with us and does not have faith in us. Join hands with me and let us repay Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto on August 8 for all the challenges that we are going through. Ensure they don’t clinch even a single seat in Mombasa),” he said amid cheers from the charged crowd. He urged residents to support ODM candidates, adding that Mombasa is an ODM zone and all elective seats should be won by the Raila Odinga-led outfit.Jomvu is the smallest constituency in Mombasa with 69,307 voters enlisted to vote and has been widely viewed as a swing constituency. However, Joho who is an integral member of NASA coalition is keen to change the narrative.
