Coast politicians allied to the Opposition now claims that Jubilee administration is not committed to solving land problems in the area.
The leaders said residents are tired of unsolved land injustices, accusing Jubilee and other previous governments of only addressing the symptoms by issuing title deeds.
"Genuine landowners at the Coast are denied land rights by greedy leaders who do not offer any solution," said Kinango MP Benjamin Dalu Tayari.
The MP cited a long-standing land wrangle in Mwamdudu where a school is set to be relocated.
He vowed that the school would not be relocated until issues of compensation are solved.
"Apart from Mwamdudu, we will also make sure that those who are going to be affected by Dongo Kundu bypass will be adequately compensated," Tayari said, as quoted by The Nation.
Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori and his Changamwe counterpart Omar Mwinyi vowed to unite all leaders to fight for the rights of the Coastal people.
"Land settlements and allocation in the Coast do not favour the local communities but only influential businessmen," Mwinyi said.
The leaders were speaking over the weekend during the homecoming party of MP Tayari at Tsunza village in Kinango.
