Kitutu Central Ward, Walter Nyambane, a Jubilee party youth leader has urged the Gusii community to vote for president Uhuru Kenyatta in the repeat polls scheduled for October 26.

According to Nyambane, Jubilee government has promoted national cohesion among Kenyans.

He said the youth in the region should take advantage of opportunities rising from development projects initiated by the government to earn a living.

Nyambane who is also a comedian challenged the youths to apply for government funds apart from the contracts and tenders offered by the county.

“Youths are facing unemployment but, we need to know that not all can get jobs in the public service hence they must take advantage of available opportunities like acquiring government tenders and funds to start businesses,’’ said Nyambane.

He urged politicians to lead by example and support mentorship programmes for the youth to run enterprises.

Nyambane noted that the government intends to establish a youth Development Council to coordinate all youth activities and facilitate training, skills building and mentoring to link them with emerging internships and job opportunities.
