Jubilee politician Kakai Bissau has criticized Governor Patrick Khaemba for taking credit following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s provision of land.
The politician stated that he worked with Water Cabine Secretary Eugene Wamalwa to get the 150 acres of land in the Trans Nzoia County.
"Governor Khaemba should not lie that he fought for the land. It was through my efforts and those of CS Eugene that the land was issued to the county government," Bissau said as reported by The Star.
The President had travelled to the region ahead of next week’s elections and during his time there he campaigned for Kakai Bissau, Janet Nangabo and Senator Michael Mbito.
Uhuru further expressed his confidence in the leaders to carry out Jubilee’s developments in the county.
"I have ordered that the land be transferred to the county government but on 8 August you should come out in large number to elect Bissau as your governor...He will ensure development projects are accomplished."
Governor Khaemba acknowledged the Head of State for allocating the land after a three year period which saw exchanges from the prison department and the county.
"I am happy to note that our request to the President and the engagement have borne fruits," he stated.
