One of Jubilee Party’s point men in Western has lost his bid to become MP.Polycap Onyango who sought the MP seat for Matayos Constituency in Busia County was trounced by Gilbert Wesonga who will now fly the party’s flag against incumbent Geoffrey Odanga (ODM).Onyango lost to Wesonga with a 119 vote margin having garnered 2,399 against Wesonga’s 2,598.Others in the race were Joaness Wesonga who emerged third with 476 votes and Nur Ali (55 votes).Onyango alongside Teso South MP Mary Emase (URP) and Teso North’s Arthur Odera (URP) were instrumental in cementing President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s visit to Busia County early in the year.The declaration of the final results by the county’s Elections Board was done after a repeat of the voting exercise.Onyango had earlier protested results of the first round of voting in which he lost to Wesonga.
