Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has launched yet another scathing attack on the Jubilee administration claiming it has panicked and is now looking for loopholes to influence the 2017 elections, a move he noted will not work.
Khalwale who was speaking during NTV's AMLive show on Tuesday alleged that President Uhuru Kenyatta was behind the recalling of the National Assembly to try and amend the election laws, saying they had presented to Kenyans a good piece of legislation that will ensure credible elections.
"The current panic by the President to order Muturi (House Speaker) to recall the National Assembly is an actual proof that the select committee did a good work that they now want to undo," he said.
"This is a confirmation that we presented a good law that they feel will not benefit them," he added.
The Kakamega County governor hopeful noted that a manual voting system was not the perfect solution for a failed electronic electoral process saying it could easily be compromised.
"Muturi is today calling parliamentarians with the pretense of creating a safety measure in case the electronic voting system fails," he said.
"If they want to create a safety measure, it does not mean we move from electronic to an analogue system," he added.
