The Jubilee Party, led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, has expressed confidence that they will beat Raila Odinga come October 17.
Uhuru kicked off campaigns immediately the Supreme Court nullified his victory on September 1.
However, the president has come up with a new strategy to win more votes in Raila’s strongholds.
The president’s team is reaching out to leaders in opposition zones ahead of the crucial vote.
On Tuesday, Uhuru met leaders from Western region at State House Nairobi.
The meeting was attended by leaders allied to NASA, but lost in the August 8 polls.
They pledged to campaign for Uhuru in the NASA strongholds to ensure victory.
Among those who attended the State House meeting was former Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga – who lost his seat.
Leaders in Jubilee from the western region who attended the session were Ababu Namwamba, Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, Chief Whip Benjamin Washiali and Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa.
The leaders from perceived NASA strongholds assured Uhuru of more votes than those he garnered on August 8.
