According to the Star, Deputy President William Ruto’s allies are planning to field a strong aspirant against the Baringo senator if he seeks re-election next year.

Former East African and Regional Cooperation minister Musa Sirma, is said to be seen as having the capacity to shake Moi’s popularity in Baringo County.

“We know they are grooming some people to take on Gideon, but let them know that Kanu is stronger and their man will be beaten hands down,” Kanu official Paul Kibet said.

Jubilee’s decision to front a strong candidate came as a result of the differences between DP Ruto and Senator Moi, largely on accounts of the region in national politics.
