A section of the Sh1.2 billion Sigiri bridge in Budalangi constituency, Busia County, collapsed it was inspected by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

Accompanied by area MP Ababu Namwamba, the two Jubilee leaders were in the region 11 days ago (June 15) to inspect the construction of the bridge, where they said more development projects would be introduced, during their second term in office, if they win in August polls. It is said construction workers were at the site during the collapse, Monday, and were rushed to Port Victoria Hospital after sustaining minor injuries.

Kenyans took to social media, accusing the Jubilee government, of introducing failed projects. They aid Jubilee under president Kenyatta, had sabotaged the economy, and such project was clear evidence.

Below are some of the comments from Facebook users.

Jemo Mwaura Ababu Namwamba mashakani, they went to show off with the president there, how comes a bridge worth such a huge amount can collapse.kwani ilijengwa na maize stalk.corruption!! Those are the fruits of corruption, the 1.2b may only be appearing on paper the kenyan style. One Just wonders whether our engineers are trained in the forest, Give it to the chinese otherwise the bridge will keep on Collapsing.

That must have cost 10% of 1.2b. Problem of fake Kenyans contractors and rushing projects for political gains. Pole budalagi people.Esther Agung One thing I learnt is that you can never control nature, you give floods an alternative way to follow trust me when the flood comes it will go back to its original passage and destroy all the bridges that you had built for it to follow. I once witnessed a similar case somewhere in siaya county so before you build a bridge try and confirm the original water passage before it renders your efforts useless

Ochongorio Nigidhako Anything Uhuloot touches, goes up in smoke. The duo are cursed in everything. I have advice for Uhuru and Ruto, repent for whatever blood spilled in 2007/08.
