Jubilee Party candidate for the Lamu gubernatorial seat Fahim Twaha has urged the incumbent governor Issa Timamy to brace himself for grueling battle during the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking on Wednesday shortly after receiving the Jubilee nomination certificate, Twaha vowed to unseat Timamy, saying he is the best suited for the county's top seat.

“They say I do not have support but then spread propaganda that I am not vying. Why? They are scared. I am in the race and they will see dust,” he noted.

The former Lamu West lawmaker pledged to form an all-inclusive government should he win the governorship.

He further urged the Lamu residents to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection bid, noting that the region stands to gain much in a Kenyatta presidency.

“Now we are spreading the Jubilee message — what we will do for the people of Lamu,” he said.

Timamy is set to seek re-election on an Amani National Congress Party ticket.
