Eldoret High Court Presiding Judge George Kimondo has decried lack of enough judges in the court.
He said there was a huge backlog of cases dating five years back.
"Despite increased number of cases, Eldoret High Court has only two judges making justice to be delayed thus denied," he said.
Speaking at the Eldoret High Court on Friday during a Judiciary open day organised by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the Eldoret Court Users Committee (CUC), Justice Kimondo urged the national government to deploy more judges for cases be be heard and determined on time.
"In the Lands Environment Court we have one judge handling over 2,000 cases, therefore the Judicial Service Commission should employ more judges to counter unattended cases," he said.
He added: "We are in the process of amending the constitution for magistrates to handle cases with a fine less than Sh20 million and soon we will be through and we believe it help in reducing backlog of cases."
He said his office is open and in case any member of the public see that justice has been denied and promised to assist them.
"We want to reduce the gap between us and the public through listening and helping Kenyans through such open days," he said.
