Nyamweya failed to turn up for the interview on the last minute stating that she cannot be given the DCJ job because Chief Justice nominee David Maraga hails from her region.

"If I were successful in my application, it may bring a contradiction. I have thought it prudent to withdraw my application," Nyamweya told JSC.

The judge said she will be giving a chance to other applicants.

She stated that if appointed it will against the constitution , for the top positions in the Judiciary to be occupied by people from the same region.
